Synopsis

What is our documentary about?

No Life Too Small is a fascinating and poignant documentary featuring the veterinary practice in the heart of Liverpool - The Liverpool Vets. An exclusive insight into the demanding and rewarding aspects of the veterinary profession, the documentary follows Dr. Danielle Greenberg as she reveals what it is like to be a veterinary surgeon. However, being a vet isn’t always easy. There are constant decisions to be made, some of them life or death, and ethical choices to be made which can take their toll. No Life Too Small addresses these topics alongside the more challenging aspects of the job, such as mental health issues and suicide. Danielle and her team are a staple of the animal community and their ethos is simple: care, trust, and no life too small.

Our Motivations

Why did we want to shoot this film?

All of our crew members are, or have been, pet owners. We understand how dogs, cats and pets of all sizes become part of the family unit and play an integral role in people's lives. That's why, when they become ill, we expect the same level of care for them as we would for any other loved one. Veterinarians are a vital part of our communities as they are there to provide invaluable care when our pets need it the most. This is where people like Danielle Greenberg come in.

Dr. Danielle Greenberg

The focus of No Life Too Small

Danielle is the owner and founder of The Liverpool Vets, the first new independent practice in the city for over 30 years. As well as running her own clinic, she selflessly donates her time to treating the pets of the rough sleepers in Liverpool through her outreach programme. After a period of illness, Danielle gained the confidence she needed to found her own business based on values she found were becoming less and less prevalent in corporate vet clinics. Her philosophy of care, trust and community is what makes her and her team such an interesting microcosm to centre our documentary on.
